Detecting Social Polarization and Radicalization
Abstract
This paper proposes a novel system to detect social</span><span style="font-size: 3.5pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; "> </span><span style="font-size: 3.5pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; ">polarization and to estimate the chances of violent</span><span style="font-size: 3.5pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; "> </span><span style="font-size: 3.5pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; ">radicalization associated with it. The required processes for</span><span style="font-size: 3.5pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; "> </span><span style="font-size: 3.5pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; ">such a system are indicated; it is also analyzed how existing</span><span style="font-size: 3.5pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; "> </span><span style="font-size: 3.5pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; ">technologies can be integrated into the proposed system to</span><span style="font-size: 3.5pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; "> </span><span style="font-size: 3.5pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; ">fulfill the objectives. We propose a scalable design to enable</span><span style="font-size: 3.5pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; "> </span><span style="font-size: 3.5pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; ">integration and extension of future state of the art technologies</span><span style="font-size: 3.5pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; "> </span><span style="font-size: 3.5pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; ">into the system.
